Chinese solar photovoltaic (PV) products manufacturer Jiangsu Seraphim Solar System has built a new facility for producing high-efficiency half-cell modules.

The new plant has been set up with Shanxi Lu’An Photovoltaics Technology, a subsidiary of the state-owned Lu’an Group with a 4.3GW PV integration production capacity.

Seraphim president Polaris Li said: “Seraphim and Lu’An’s highly automated facilities feature the latest internally-developed quality control systems, which can now cut manufacturing costs and management overhead by about 50%.

“Our ultimate goal is to make the Seraphim brand synonymous with cost-effective, reliable products for all of our end users.”

Equipped with the latest machinery, the new factory will be engaged in the production of 1GW of ultra-efficient modules annually.

“Our ultimate goal is to make the Seraphim brand synonymous with cost-effective, reliable products for all of our end users.”

The modules that will be produced at the facility include standard half-cell, dual-glass half-cell, and bifacial half-cell modules.

The new plant at Shanxi province is expected to commence operations from May this year.

The firm also noted that its bifacial products feature a double layer of glass combined with advanced two-sided PV cells. This feature helps to produce nearly 25% more clean electricity than regular modules.

Lu’An Photovoltaics Technology chairman Deng Ming said: “The partnership with Seraphim marks the cooperation between state-owned and private enterprises to link upstream and downstream supply chains.”

Established in 2011, Seraphim has been involved in research, development, production, innovation and sales of photovoltaic (PV) products.
