KINGSTON, N.Y. — The Forsyth Nature Center at Forsyth Park on Lucas Avenue celebrated its seventh annual sustainability fair from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.
The Kingston Earth Fair included the Simi Stone Trio and other music bands, great eats and many sustainable energy vendors.
Some vendors were there to educate. The new www.climatechange.tips is an aggregation website of useful ideas and tips on how to live an energy-sustainable, low-impact life. The New York Solar Energy Society, nyses.org, helps educate the public and promote the use of solar power.
New Yorkers for Clean Power is a non-profit advocacy group that is campaigning for New York State’s transition from fossil fuel to renewable energy. They can be reached at nyforcleanpower.org.
Other vendors featured companies, many local, that help residents go green. They included greenmountainenergy.com, a wind and solar supplier and Aztech Geothermal, which can retrofit a house to get 80 percent of its climate control from the earth: aztechgeo.com.
